Stop killing your eardrums when you equalise! The Dry Gauge is aimed at both scuba divers and freedivers (and spearfishers!). It allows you to measure the pressure you exert when you equalise, and thus learn how to reduce it.
In fact, a majority of divers and freedivers exert too much pressure on their eardrums. This leads to discomfort, pain, and even long-term hearing loss. As an example, we have found that most scuba divers (using Vasalva to equalise) instinctively exert a pressure of more than 70mm of mercury, i.e. more than three times the necessary pressure.
The Dry Gauge will allow you to measure the pressure you exert, and to train yourself to reduce it.
- More than 50mm of mercury? NOT GOOD!!!
- 15 to 20 mm of mercury: your eardrums will thank you!
- 2-3mm of mercury: Most likely you are using hands free to equalise? If not… think about it, because it seems you have a predisposition!

The Dry Trainer, derived from the Otovent, is a great classic for freedivers who want to practice dry trainning to improve their compensation. It is essential to discover, understand and then strengthen the mechanisms allowing good compensation in apnea (Frenzel, Fatah mouthfill, etc.)

New for winter 2024-2025!
The Water Tube, combined with the Dry Bubbler, is the ultimate tool for anyone wishing to train dry to improve their apnea compensation.
From the imagination ofAndréa Zuccari, one of the greatest specialists in freediving equalisation, the Water Tube, associated with the Dry Bubbler allows:
- the neophyte freediver to learn how to master his compensation or discover new methods of compensation
- the expert freediver to refine his technique, by simulating various contexts and various depths.
CAUTION: The Water Tube must be associated with the Dry Bubbler in order to be used. If you don’t have one yet, consider reserving one!
(see the Dry Bubbler page for more details on usage)
